American Hemerocallis Society Daylily Awards

SSM - Stout Silver Medal This is the American Hemerocallis Society's highest honor voted by garden judges awarded yearly. Only one daylily receives this award unless their is a tie. Established in 1950.

DFM - Donn Fischer Memorial Award Given annually for the most outstanding miniature cultivar under 3". Established in 1962.

AGA - Annie T. Giles Award Given annually to the most outstanding small flowered daylily. Established in 1964.

AM - Award of Merit Given to those cultivars that are not only distinctive and beautiful but have proven themselves as good performers over a wide geographic area. Established in 1950.

DSA - Don C. Stevens Award Given annually to an outstanding eyed or banded daylily. Established in 1985

EFA - Eugene S. Foster Award Given annually for the outstanding late-blooming cultivar. Established in 1991.

HM - Honorable Mention This is the Society's "first official stamp of approval beyond the local or regional level." Established in 1950.

HSA - Harris Olson Spider Award Given annually to the best spider or spider variant. Established in 1989

LAA - Lenington All- American Award Given to that cultivar known for its outstanding performance in the different AHS regions. The only varietal award made by the MIS Board of Directors. Established in 1970.

IMA - Ida Munson Award Given annually to the most outstanding double cultivar. Established in 1975. LPA - L. Ernest Plouf Award Given annually to the most consistently fragrant, dormant daylily Established in 1979.

LEP - L. Ernest Plouf Award decided by garden judges annually to recognize the most consistently fragrant dormant daylily.

DFM - Don Fischer Memorial Cup Given annually for the most outstanding miniature cultivar. Established in 1962.

RPA -Richard C. Peck Memorial Award given for the best tetraploid daylily over a ten year period. Established in 1974. Discontinued in 1984.
